Project Name

Clam Bayou

Project Description

The water quality station in Clam Bayou in Gulfport, FL is a component of the USF Coastal Ocean Monitoring and Prediction Systems (COMPS). USF Comps is funded by SECOORA (www.secoora.org). The Clam Bayou sonde system measures salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, water temperature, turbidity, chlorophyll, blue green algae, and fluorescent dissolved organic matter and depth. The Clam Bayou Station is also serving as a developmental site to show how YSI WaterLog bubbler and YSI radar water level sensors could be used in a coastal environment to measure sea level rise accurately.
